After taking the midnight flight from LAX to Papeete we took a ferry to the island of Moorea in the morning of 11/24.  The resort is called Moorea Pearl - you can see it at the upper right side of the map.

Full moon, how romantic...
We did some exploring, first on foot, then we rented bikes.  There's a golf course nearby that only has nine holes open but we didn't play (the greens were not good and the pro was a very rude curmugeon).  Roosters everywhere - even on the golf course.  They woke us up about 3 am in the morning - thousands of them!  We walked to the grocery store before 6 am in the morning when the bakery truck delivered its fresh baked french pastries, croissants, etc. Mmmm.  Met some local fishermen, had dinner at a chinese restaurant (!!) and one dinner at the resort in their gourmet restaurant.
Lance? No - Chris!
Grocery store nearby, where we shopped every day!
A snack on our private patio
Good looking fish
Golf course - The Green Pearl
Roosters everywhere
Even on the green...
A night out...
We also rented a car for a half day tour of the island.  It actually only took about an hour to drive all the way around.  We went to a lookout point called The Belvedere, where you get a nice view of the two bays (Cooks Bay and Opunohu Bay) with Mount Rotui in the middle.  We stopped and bought some fresh mango and papaya from two nice local ladies at a road stand...
Opunohu Bay
Cooks Bay
Even up at the top of the lookout spot, we found some roosters...
A thriving business...
